the Introduction of Dalian Business Institute
The DIIB campus covers an area of 20 hectares,with 121,000 square meters of educational facilities. There are three main teaching buildings in different architectural styles.The 176 classrooms can accommodate nearly 10,000 students.The classrooms are connected via a computer network.This network makes distance education,electronic teaching and network teaching possible.DIIB has more than 2000 computers as well as multi-media and video laboratories available for students.A new stadium,swimming pool and meeting hall are to be opened for use in the near future.
The library is the information center of the Institute and the"second classroom"for students.The reading room covers 800 square meters and can seat 464 students.The 1,000 square meter lending library has a collection of 150,000 books and more than 400 bound volumes of periodicals.The library is connected to the campus network,and is equipped with a computer checkout system.
Faced the challenge of intellectual competition in the 21st century,it is very important to maintain a high-level and capable faculty team. DIIB has a vigorous faculty team with extensive experience and academic qualifications.The Institute has 300full-time teachers,120 of whom are recognized as"high academics".The associate teachers number is more than 100.Within this team,there are distinguished professors with national special awards,mid-career teachers with abundant teaching experiences and young outstanding instructors who play a very important role in DIIB's educational plan.
The National Education Ministry has given DIIB support to encourage international culture exchanges.This is a prerequisite for cooperative programs in China.DIIB is one of the first Chinese schools to have cooperative relationships.It has established a long,close relationship with several colleges in the United States, Russia and Australia among others.
DIIB has strengthened its ties with the Conrad N.Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management,University of Houston, Texas, USA. Students who successfully complete the first two years of curriculum requirements at DIIB have the opportunity to go to the University of Houston to complete their studies for a Bachelor of Science Degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management.They retain full credits from their studies at DIIB.The first group of students has already gone to the USA on this program.The second group is now making preparations to finish their courses in Huston.
DIIB has established the MBA training cooperative program with University of South Australia. DIIB's cooperative program with Russia's State Normal University is similar to the Sino-US Program.
DIIB plans to enhance cooperation and exchanges with other leading international universities as part of its efforts to creat more academic opportunities for its students.
This center is qualified to enroll international students wishing to pursue studies in Chinese language and culture .
The institute can house 200 students in a 7000 square meter building on campus with facilities equal to a 3-star hotel . DIIB also provides a dormitory for students off campus . As well as comfortable living conditions , the center has a high-level faculty and advanced teaching facilities .
International students can travel to places of historic interest , learn traditional Chinese culture and customs as well as study Chinese language . After completing the examination of Chinese language level one examination , students can apply for admission to DIIB's regular curriculum and get a diploma on completion of courses .

DIIB also owns a mobile driving school . The tuition for a Chinese driver's license is exceptionally inexpensive . A driver's license awarded by the Dalian Transportation Bureau qualifies drivers for many countries in Asia .
